What’s So Special About Miron Violet Glass?
Miron Violet Glass is also known as Biophotonic glass (from the Greek root Bio, meaning life, and phos meaning light). Violet glass has been used since Ancient Egyptian times to not only extend the shelf life of its precious contents (like oils, balms and elixirs) but also enhance their quality.
Unlike clear, amber or other coloured glass which allows visible light to pass through, Miron Violet Glass naturally filters the spectrum of visible light, allowing only infra-red, UV-A and UV-B light through. By blocking visible light, the contents are naturally protected from decomposition for an extended period of time. In addition, by allowing UV-A and B rays to filter through, this helps suppress microbial growth.
Natural ingredients, like oils and butters, can degrade quickly if exposed to the harmful effects of visible light. At Flora Maia, we only use this protective glass for all of our precious bottled products. This ensures optimal protection from light, prolonging product shelf life and potency.
